Can you use Biotrue with GP (RGP) lenses?
Biotrue is formulated and has proven compatibility with silicone hydrogel and hydrogel soft contact lenses. Biotrue is not indicated for use with GP (RGP) lenses.

Is Biotrue approved for application directly into the eye?
Biotrue is cleared for conditioning, cleaning, protein removal, disinfecting, rinsing and storing contact lenses. Biotrue is not approved or intended to be used as a rewetting agent for direct dispensing into the eye from the bottle.

Were there any problems with patients who are allergic to Sulfa using Biotrue? Looks like there may be a sulfa derivative in the ingredient list?
Sulfobetaine, found in Biotrue, is chemically unrelated to sulfa drugs, or sulfonamides, that may cause hypersensitivity (allergies). Therefore, people who are allergic to sulfa drugs are not necessarily allergic to Biotrue.

How long can you store lenses in Biotrue?
Contact lenses can be stored in Biotrue multi-purpose solution for up to 30 days in an unopened lens case. If stored longer than 30 days between wear, lenses will need to be cleaned and disinfected prior to use.

Will Biotrue replace

When are you going to follow with a Biotrue rewetting drop?
B+L is continually developing and evaluating new products that benefit both the patient and the practitioner.

Does Biotrue perform better in its own lens case?
We evaluate compatibility of Biotrue with our lens cases and recommend that Biotrue be used with a Bausch + Lomb lens case.

In the absence of a rewetting drop, what product should patients use?
Bausch + Lomb offers ReNu Multiplus® Lubricating and Rewetting Drops and ReNu rewetting drops. Both are excellent options.

Is the renu® liquid enzymatic cleaner approved for use with Biotrue™?
The renu® liquid enzymatic cleaner is compatible only with renu® sensitive. Biotrue already contains an ingredient that lifts and dissolves proteins and therefore the renu® liquid enzymatic cleaner is not needed.
